AHMAD A. AL-SA’ADI
CHIEF ENGINEER, SAUDI ARAMCO

Ahmad A. Al-Sa’adi is currently the Chief Engineer of Saudi Aramco. In his last position, Ahmad was the President & CEO for Aramco Gulf Operations Company, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco (AGOC). Subsequently, Ahmad became the chairman of Al-Khafji Joint Operations Executive Committee, which provides policy and direction to Al-Khafji Joint Operations. Prior to holding theses positions, Ahmad got a ground-level look at the operations of the largest hydrocarbon-producing company in the world.
Ahmad earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1981. Prior to graduation, in 1980, he had a Coop assignment with Bechtel Corporation in USA. Upon graduation he joined Saudi Aramco’s Engineering Services organization, and 1983, he spent another year with Bechtel Corporation on a refinery project.
Ahmad worked at two of Saudi Aramco’s major oil processing and refming facilities — Abqaiq and Ras Tanura — as well as working in Facilities Planning & Project Management Departments. In 1997, Ahmad was appointed Manager of the Research & Development Center in Dhahran.
Two years later, he was sent out to manage the Uthmaniyah Gas Plant, one of the largest gas processing facilities in the world. In September 2000 he attended the Program of Management Development at Harvard Business School in the United States.
In addition to his current assignment as Saudi Aramco Chief Engineer, Ahmad is a Board member of Aramco Gulf Operations Company (AGOC), and a founding member of the Gas Processors Association.
